Jan Marie Artworks

Raised in the midwest, I received my BFA from Wright State University in 1975 with an emphasis in sculpture and printmaking and continued my art studies at the Art Institute of Chicago.

I have three grown children and pursued my interest in acoustic guitar and country blues during their formative years, writing songs and finally producing a CD of my music in 2003. You can listen to the songs on my CD, “Sweet Innocence”  on this website.

Following a “painting with light” workshop at Bullseye Glass in Portland, OR in 2004, I began working in fused glass.  I continue to hone my glass working skills through workshops at Bullseye Glass and hope to soon venture into creating sculptures of glass and mixed media.

Music is still very much a part of my life with ukulele as my current instrument of choice.  Women  vocalists of the 1920’s and 30’s dominate my country blues study.

I reside in Spokane, WA with my spouse, dog Arlo and cats Max and Lenny.
